Job Summary:
These programming positions are both contract and permanent positions
using Catia V5 and/or Unigraphics applications. Both companies are in
South Georgia and are in the Aerospace industry. The CNC Programmer
will develop programs for fabricating parts on numerically controlled
machine tools.
Responsibilities to Include:
• Working from designs and specifications will determine machining
requirements and prepare a mathematical definition of the part to be
produced
• Determine the proper speeds, feeds and types of cutters
• Responsible for maximizing the machine’s efficiency by determining optimum cutter paths
• Responsible for preparing technical input to generate machine control programs
Education Requirements:
• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent, BS degree in Engineering field or equivalent preferred
Position Requirements:
• Mechanical aptitude and 3-5 years of manufacturing experience,
previous experience and/or knowledge of machining and other related
processes, CNC machine operation preferred
• 3-5 years of computer software, mainframe and windows operating
systems i.e., Votaw, Unix Work station, Windows based PC applications
as well as, NCL multi-axis machining software
• Ability to analyze production schedules and estimate work hour
requirements for completion of job assignments, previous experience
training and supervising staff
• Ability to program from 2-3 axis parts using CAD/CAM software; ability to program 4-5 axis
• Ability to read, interpret and understand blueprints, mylars and related documents.
• Knowledge of feeds, speeds, cutter types and material removal methods for specific materials and WC's
• Solid math, reading and writing due to high level of systems
• Ability to plan detailed sequence of operations for programs and provide sufficient documentation
• Work from written and verbal instructions
• Ability to utilize geometric models created by other programmers
